personal opinion about the overnight mask for sleep apnea?
I have sleep apnea and the mask that helps me the most is the nose mask. ! i was tired all day and fell asleep as soon as i got home from work, the apnea and snorning didnt leave me much time for a good nights sleep. NOW i feel like a new and smarter person because i can finally get a good nights sleep. plus,,,, the wife is getting her rest also from not checking on me to see if im breathing and my lack of snoring isnt keeping her awake.. we have solved 2 problems with this wonderful devise!! so your tec will get you fitted with what is the best fit for you , dont be short on questions either. your doctor will make sure you have all your sleep test so your mask will be adjusted to your own special needs, i hope you find some comfort in my answer ,, good luck to you and hope your feeling better soon ,, sheila m
I assume you are asking about personal preference. I have tried them all, but use a full face mask. I have allergies and a deviated septum, so there are times my nose is plugged. This means I have to breathe through my mouth, and the full face mask is the only one that allows that. The mask that only covers the nose makes it virtually impossible to breathe through my mouth. I can say the CPAP has saved my life and I can’t even nap without it now. Hope that answers your question.

I like the one that covers the nose only. Full face mask made me uncomfortable. The nasal pillows cause your nares to expand overtime as the air blowing through them distends that skin.
I just slip on the mask after the lights are off, and no one has to see it.
CPAP made a difference in my life.

I use a mask. I chose that because I breath through my mouth a lot when I sleep. The nose pillows are intended for nose breathers. So if you keep your mouth closed all night they may work well for you. But if you breath through your mouth I’d go with to the mask for the best results.
Beyond that, there several types of each system. Your comfort will increase the effectiveness no matter which system you need.
So select the system based on your breathing style, then choose the one of that system that is most comfortable to you. The technician will help you a lot in these areas as well as with the proper fit. And most of all ask any questions you may have. Also ask the technician to go back over anything you don’t understand. They are usually more than happy to do so.

Hope you find some help here! Good luck!
