You can get estimates at your local medical supply store, as there are different models and brands of "sleep apnea machines." The correct term is CPAP machine.

If you have health insurance they may pay for it. They can be anywhere from $500 and up depending on what company you go to.

Insurance should take care of it, but if you don’t have insurance, you will need your prescription even for shopping online. Ebay doesn’t allow cpap machines, but they do have accessories like masks, hoses, filters and such.

Amazon and a host of other online stores have a wide selection and a wide range of prices. Just do a search for cpap machines, cheap or wholesale etc…

Your prescription is needed because the cpap machine air pressure setting is adjusted at the store and is not user adjustable. (Not supposed to be anyway).

Take a look at http://www.cpap-supply.com and/or http://www.cpcp.com as these are two of the less expensive suppliers I’ve found. CPAP-Supply has been best overall. They sell packages for as low as $427 and as high as $1390 depending on the features you want. My rig would currently run about $585 and mine is a pretty nice rig with decent features. It was actually recommended by the owner of CPAP-Supply as he is a sleep apnea patient also who found CPAP machine prices were too high so he started the company with his son. His real livelihood is as a Golf Pro so this is a side business for him. His prices were lower than what my co-pay would have been with my insurance as they only covered half of their suppliers prices and those were four times the prices at CPAP-Supply.
