Are these apneas bad?

Is a few episodes of central apnea and hypoapnea bad? I had a few episodes during a sleep study and only was able to sleep supine for 6 minutes, but during, had 1 episode of that, and 4 of the hypoapnea. I had NO obstructive apneas, yet was diagnosed with Mild Obstructive sleep apnea.

Apneas are never good, but a mild case is the least concerning case for you to have.
As long as you’re maintaining your oxygen levels to some degree and are getting moderate amounts of restful sleep every night, you may want to explore secondary options such as diet and exercise, Breathe right nasal strips or ambulatory surgery in order to fix your apneic case.

It entirely depends on what your apnea hypopnea index was for the entire night. Im assuming it was over 5 events per hour and under 20 in order to be mild sleep apnea. Mild sleep apnea isn’t generally as large of a health risk and concern than moderate or severe. But if you have many central apneas it can actually be worse than obstructive. But there are cased where people have what is called sleep onset central apneas, where they only have them upon falling asleep and then they subside. These are generally not to worry about. It just depends on your individual case. I central apnea and 4 hypopneas over the course of a study wouldn’t even be enough to diagnose mild sleep apnea. Are you sure you got that correct?
